What is a Life Journal? You can get a life journal at church; If you FB or blog, you can post your life journal entries there, use a regular notebook and your bible works or you can print a life journal form and make a book of your own via a template that is offered here
S.O.A.P. basically stands for Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer.
I really like it using the S.O.A.P.,because it has become an effective way, for me, to study God's Word as I make it a habit to read each day from the Bible.

12 “And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, butto fear the LORD your God,to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, 13 and to keep the commandments of the LORD and His statutes -Deuteronomy 10:12-13 (NKJV)"The greatest of competitor of true devotion to Jesus Christ is the service we do for Him... We are not sent to do battle for God but to be used by God in His battles. Are we more devoted to service than we are to Jesus Christ Himself? ~Oswald Chamber“If the Lord Jesus has indeed received us, and bears with our weaknesses and follies, well may we have patience with one another, and show pity to each other's infirmities. Christ did not receive us because we were perfect, because he could see no fault in us, or because he hoped to gain somewhat at our hands. Ah, no! But, in loving condescension covering our faults, and seeking our good, he welcomed us to his heart; so, in the same way, and with the same purpose, let us receive one another~Spurgeon
