  • From the learning rooms…SUMMER VACATION!
  • From the kitchen…Thinking chicken stir fry with rice for dinner tonight.
  • I am wearing…cleaning clothes; Today was/is cleaning day.
  • I am creating…posters for this years curriculum; Workbox templates; brainstorming a few ideas; A homeschool blog
  • I am going…to try and get more motivated….lol.
  • I am reading…Right now taking a short break and catching up on book reviews.
  • I am hoping…it rains for the rest of the night-I really enjoy storms.
  • I am hearing…the dogs need a good bath and its raining so they won’t run outside.
  • Around the house…all the rooms are clean; Need to vacumn still though.
  • One of my favorite things…COFFEE!
  • A few plans for the rest of the week: Prepare for the 4th of July weekend; Work on my Biblical Motherhood Study that is going on at Conservative Homeschooler-Raising a Generation for Christ homeschool community. It’s been a great and encouraging study.

FOR TODAY

  • Outside my window…the morning looks beautiful, a reminder of our Father’s constant promise of a new day.
  • I am thinking…of strudels and lesson plans and what homeschool projects to complete.
  • I am thankful for…our Father, His word, the blessing of my family and husband that He has blessed me with.
  • From the learning rooms…we are wrapping up our study of phonics and will be moving into early grammar lessons.
  • From the kitchen…the smell of coffee and strudels fills the air.
  • I am wearing…a skirt and matching top;  I feel more feminine wearing a dress.
  • I am creating…a bible based homeschool project and it’s been a matter of putting it together and making sure it will work.
  • I am going…to water my garden later today and enjoy some fresh air after school.
  • I am reading…O Ye of Little Faith that I am reviewing later on this week.
  • I am hoping…for blessings on friends and family, softening of hearts to come to know our Heavenly Father.
  • I am hearing…He is faithful and good  no matter what comes our way.
  • Around the house…laundry that always needs to be done and some dusting to be done.
  • One of my favorite things…coffee..coffee..coffee.
  • A few plans for the rest of the week: Support a friend and their family, maybe do some outdoor bbq and just keep busy as always.

  • Outside my window…Mostly cloudy skies and a light wind but loving the view of the butterfly bush, that hubby and the kids got me for Mother’s Day.
  • I am thinking…What else do I need to work on for homeschool (always a project going on though, lol).
  • I am thankful for…Our Heavenly Father, He is constant, a firm rock to hold on to.
  • From the learning rooms…We’re finishing up a phonics book, doing a mini-civics lesson and the kids love Bill Nye, so watching and discussing the “Food Web” today.
  • From the kitchen…Coffee and homemade banana bread
  • I am wearing…Light peach color top and a skirt today.
  • I am creating…Pumpkin lapbook and observation workbook since oldest science project will be raising a pumpkin this year.
  • I am going…clean up the kitchen later today, work on homeschool projects, I have a book to read/review.
  • I am reading…O Me of Little Faith that I’m reviewing for a book tour
  • I am hoping…Strength, but particularly humbling discernment and encouragement.I am hearing…
  • Around the house…Quiet save the sound of a medium wind blowing outside…very relaxing.
  • One of my favorite things…COFFEE! LOL
  • A few plans for the rest of the week: We are starting a new unit on time and finishing up reading some Rocket Readers before it gets passed down to the youngest who wants to learn how to read.

  • Outside my windowthe sky is cloudy and likely to rain, and enjoying the sweet smell of before the rain.
  • I am thinking…of our Father’s grace, coffee and what I need to put together for school this week
  • I am thankful for…being saved in and through Jesus Christ, the bible to develop and maintain that relationship, my family, fellowship and coffee
  • From the learning roomsfinishing up a workbook, reading, science and social studies and I need to put together some lapbooks
  • From the kitchen…coffee and strawberry strudel
  • I am wearing…a simple skirt and matching top.
  • I am creating..lapbooks this week, charts to be used and posters
  • I am going..to have to clean up the kitchen better later today, we had a crawfish boil yesterday, courtesy of a close friend.
  • I am reading…Fixing to start a John MacArthur book called “Hard to Believe”; Thankfully caught up with my book reviews/reading, but nothing new there to read.
  • I am hoping…some doors to be open in much needed places but also my heart to understand if our Father decides to say no or nothing at all and remember always, HE knows better than we do of what works in His plan. Not about us…it’s about Him.
  • I am hearing…patience and hope…things will work out.
  • Around the house…not that dirty but it could be better (sounds like a busy mom eh? lol)
  • One of my favorite things…coffee…lol.
  • A few plans for the rest of the week: school, plus I have a special post I’ve been working and tweaking on to post.

  • Outside my window…the sun is out, sky is clear and light wind and pollen is out, lol.
  • I am thinking…what I need to do today, organizing the school room from the weekend, what I want to plant in the garden, and breathing and enjoying our Father’s prescence.
  • I am thankful for…Our Father and the love He has for us
  • From the learning rooms…wrapping up working on our phonics workbook and hoping to find “Mystery of History, volume I” for a fair price that won’t break our budget.
  • From the kitchen…quiet right now; maybe hamburgers for lunch today.
  • I am wearing…comfy clothes, still a little chilly but not bad
  • I am creating…posters for the school room
  • I am going…catch up on some cleaning, we had a lazy weekend
  • I am reading…finished up two book reviews I need to do this week.
  • I am hoping…some relief from my allergies…this year has been a bad year for everyone.
  • I am hearing…be still.
  • Around the house…kids are busy getting back into our weekly routine
  • One of my favorite things…coffee…really…need to say it? LOL
  • A few plans for the rest of the week: other than school, I have a doctor’s appointment to find out about my sinueses (pollen plays a huge factor) and hopefully get some relief, little bit of writer’s block, but mostly from some side projects I’m working on that has kept me contemplating and busy.

FOR TODAY

  • Outside my window…Beautiful day; Striking blue skies and a slight chill but for the most part it is a crystal blue sky with plenty of sun.
  • I am thinking…Ways to reconnect to our Heavenly Father as far as creating a personal retreat in the mornings and ways to get up early before the day start to really spend time in the Bible, in prayer and in personal devotions.
  • I am thankful for…An awesome God, dear Father, dear Abba, for the Grace and Redemption He offers, that His Son, has risen and for an unconditional love of all of us, the ultimate price was paid for Everlasting Life-that we have the Bible and the fellowship of others.
  • From the learning rooms…we are working on a unit regarding the Sun, discuss about the Food chain (while watching Molly the Barn Owl that we keep on during school),, Spring copywork and begin working on subtraction facts this week to name a few. The kids each, get to pick a plant that they want to grow for this spring and will monitor plant growth.
  • From the kitchen…Kids are enjoying waffles while I’m drinking coffee and eating toast and jam….I’m just not a waffle fan.
  • I am wearing…Spring clothes…finally. It was nice to pack up the winter clothes….
  • I am creating…a weather station that the kids will use to learn about weather and monitor the weather each day (the temperature), make our own anemometer and observe the clouds (yes, it’s actually scientific and also day dreaming at times….lol)
  • I am going…to work on the garden some this week after school; The kids have their own “garden” that they will be responsible for and maintain to monitor and learn about seed to plant for their lessons as well.
  • I am reading…I have three books I need to wrap up and review and begin to read “Hard to Believe” by John MacArthur
  • I am hoping…to work on a personal project regarding creating an area in the home for a personal retreat in the mornings prior to everyone waking up-just feel a need to be closer to God which is always a good thing to strive for.
  • I am hearing…time to listen right now and not to be active or taking action as far as in my walk with our Father; He has things that I feel He is wanting me to work on, and to be encouraged and more than anything He wants to work on my heart about.
  • Around the house…Minor chores..did a major cleanup this weekend which made a huge difference so rest of the week is always more maintence and keeping up.
  • One of my favorite things…Coffee-surprised? LOL
  • A few plans for the rest of the week: Mostly just school and garden related…keeping it quiet with an ear toward our Father.
  • Scripture thought for the Day….

  • Outside my window…it’s raining, the pollen is being kicked up but the thing is that I enjoy rain and thunderstorms-there is something cleansing and comforting about them-until the power goes off.
  • I am thinking…about a member of the family who is still in the hospital; how AWESOME God is and how faithful He is; Prayers for just strength and encouragment always-I think that is something that we all need always in our lives.
  • I am thankful for…Our Heavenly Abba-Wow. Resurrection is around the corner and just think of how the “ultimate” 24 hours made a difference not just for you and me, but for everyone.
  • From the learning rooms…We are working through a new primer this week,we’re going to discuss about weather and the sky this week and decorate our “bulletin board” with spring time images and start a new copywork of poems for spring.
  • From the kitchen…hoping that the oatmeal comes out okay for breakfast; thinking of making a smoothie this morning…no coffee due to coffee maker going the way of our previous coffee grinder.
  • I am wearing…skirt with a matching purple top. Hmmm..is purple becoming my “color”.
  • I am creating…Peter and the Wolf  ‘display board’ using legal size folders, debating how to create an “all about art” poster and searching for a butterfly copywork book to go with our spring unit.
  • I am going…to start school in a little bit but not much a week really planned out and just going as it goes.
  • I am reading…Just finished,”Homeschooling for the rest of us”. I have a stack of books to read/review and then a stack of just books for me to read I need to get to.
  • I am hoping…to hear good news that our family member will be discharged from the hospital; prayers for really more godly friends in real life.
  • I am hearing…Our Heavenly Father is a best friend through all circumstances and we are never truly alone in and through Him.
  • Around the house…small pile of laundry but other than that, pretty caught up.
  • One of my favorite things…Chai tea-craving it and sushi right now.
  • A few plans for the rest of the week: Trying to remember where I saw the butterfly mobile to print out and

  • Outside my window…it is a beautiful rainy day
  • I am thinking…what we have planned for school, extended family member who is still in the hospital
  • I am thankful for…our Heavenly Father and His strength and Love
  • From the learning rooms…we’re implementing a modified version of workboxes, reading today and science/art
  • From the kitchen…chai tea is simmering to be made for sipping on during class (kids get hot chocolate,lol)
  • I am wearing…warm clothes for it went from nice to chilly again
  • I am creating…nothing at the moment; I lost my knitting needles and need to wait for hubby to help me move the furniture to get it.
  • I am going…to the classroom in a bit to start  school
  • I am reading…Restoration Road by Mitch Ruse
  • I am hoping…for bettter news about family member, God’s leading and encouragement
  • I am hearing…He is faithful and working always though it’s not in our time frame, it’s for His Good and Glory and He never abandons.
  • Around the house…Laundry is almost (is it ever done?) done, and rain is falling outside.
  • One of my favorite things…rain
  • A few plans for the rest of the week: Usual-School and just seeing how the rest of the week unfolds right now

  • Outside my window…the weather is a clear blue, sunny day but chilly.
  • I am thinking…what all we have to cover for school; dinner,and today’s life journal-bible reading
  • I am thankful for…our Heavenly Father, His word-the Bible, family, fellowship, friends and the blessings our Father wants to share with us as well as the lessons.
  • From the learning rooms…reading, we have a week of addition to work on, discussion about Creation,
  • From the kitchen…clean up after breakfast, debating about making coffee cake for this week and thankfully most of the house is cleaned up.
  • I am wearing…warm clothes-it’s a chilly day
  • I am creating…I need to put together workbooks for next week and work on posters/charts to put up in the learning room.
  • I am going…to catch up on some laundry, dust, catch up with sending out a daily email to our bible study group members
  • I am reading…Eat with Sinners for a book review that I am doing, daily bible reading
  • I am hoping…that we will be able to get a new printer to ease the cost of ink for the current one
  • I am hearing…God is good and faithful and sometimes finds way to keep us from the things that are really distractions and not good for our growth and journey with Him.
  • Around the house…light dusting, school room closet and main closet was cleaned and organized this weekend so it’s nice to be able to go in and out without falling over anything.
  • One of my favorite things…the Bible
  • A few plans for the rest of the week:Bible study this weekend, meeting with my mentor, relaxation and oh, watch the Olympics!

  • From the kitchen…chai tea..mmm…perfect way to start the morning
  • I am wearing…warm clothes…it’s chilly
  • I am creating…latest life journal/bible reading post for this morning
  • I am going…to clean up the kitchen after school is done.
  • I am reading…not sure right now…going through what I have to figure out what to start reading today.
  • I am hoping…for snow.
  • I am hearing…maybe there will be snow, lol.
  • Around the house…things are pretty picked up, just need to finish up Christmas shopping soon.
  • One of my favorite things…listening to old hymns.
  • A few plans for the rest of the week: school, finish up some shopping, I would like to try to make some gingerbread cookies and a gingerbread house.
