Our Home School Mission Statement
Our decision to home school was because we wanted to achieve the following:
- We seek to bring glory to God by teaching our children according to Biblical standards , traditional foundation , faith and in a positive atmosphere, through home, church and the community.
- We also desire to teach our children about God’s creation through such avenues as history, science, literature, math, etc
- Our prayers for our children is to achieve excellence in a positive manner that will develop self-confidence, self-discipline and encouragement in all areas with God’s grace.
- Our plan is to provide our children an atmosphere that will encourage, teach, and correct our children including but not limited to surrounding them with:
- Authority figures who can positively teach them respect and a love for life and learning
- An atmosphere that is free of false teachings,
- Protecting them from negative and harmful temptations
- Teaching them proper social interaction through development of socialized and socialization skills that are necessary for individual thought,personal responsibility and decision making
- Protecting them from negative peer pressure that can be detrimental to their academic, spiritual, moral and mental development,
- Providing healthy and positive role models that encourage Christian character, solid biblical foundations, faith and academic growth
- Protecting them from influences that are not conducive or promoting of good citizenship, respect or otherwise positive influence
- <!–[if !supportLists]–>Our philosophy of education is to teach our children in the manner that most suits their individual needs. We will prepare and develop our children with a solid foundation that is academically, spiritually, morally and physically geared to their full potential.

Academically
We wish to prepare our children to have a mind that is reasoning, clear thinking, and objective while focusing on the truths of the Lord and still able to think for themselves and negotiate the difference between right and wrong.
Socially
Using the outline of the Fruits of the Spirit of love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, meekness, temperance and faith to teach our children good citizenship as a Christian and as a citizen of their community.
Physically
Endeavor to teach nutrition, health and a good combination of exercise and fitness as a way of life. We will teach them the importance of cleanliness and order through chores and family projects.
Spiritually
We want to lead them to trust in a true and living Savior and to appreciate the wonders of God’s creation. Ultimately, our children are God’s greatest gift to us and He has entrusted them to us to hone them from an early age. We will raise children that are wholeheartedly committed to serving Jesus Christ and seeing the world through His eyes.
Morally
We desire to instill a sense of unconditional love, acceptance and security to build a healthy perspective towards others and ultimately GOD.
Our Home School Goals are as follows:
First and foremost to learn, understand, respect, desire, apply and appreciate God’s Word.
Develop memorization skills to retain scripture, facts and other rules of grammar, math, science and basic good citizenship.
Learn the importance of following instructions and respecting rules of God, Home and Community.
Develop and utilize reading skills while learning to appreciate literature and real life application of reading comprehension.
Development of study skills and research methods to apply to all subjects and personal application using internet, dictionary, living books, encyclopedias and reference books.
Refine, build and expand knowledge gained from previous grades
Encouragement and development of fine art appreciation and skills.
Develop and learn mathematical skills that are relevant for current grade level.
Through the use of nature study, develop an appreciation and awareness of one’s environment and God’s creation.
Encouragement and development of scientific knowledge and skills through use of life application, textbooks, labs, science classes (online, classroom settings, and/or museum activity participation)
Participate in outdoor activities to develop personal coordination, learn and apply teamwork skills, personal physical activity.
Develop and learn the importance of personal care and hygiene including proper etiquette.
Understand the importance of personal responsibility by engaging in home and school chores and occasional volunteer participation in the community.
Socialization as defined by Merriam-Webster as
“the process by which a human being beginning at infancy acquires the habits, beliefs, and accumulated knowledge of society through education and training for adult status”
will be achieved by guidance through, Our Heavenly Father, family (parents, grandparents, inlaws, etc.), friends, home-school group participation, church and community interaction.
Children will be socialized as defined by Merriam-Webster as
“to make social ; to participate actively in a social group”
by involvement of group activities such as extracurricular sports, Sunday School, homeschool group activities (including park dates), park dates, field trips (zoo, museum, etc.), family outlets, vacations, neighborhood activities, etc.
