Spring is around the corner….leaves are appearing and as I walked out in the garden today, I was elated at the sight of the Amaryllis growing back, despite the hard freeze we had this year.

Even the day lilies that I had planted last year, not knowing how they would fared, since it was the first time growing them, were coming back and had me think of this verse from Isaiah:

Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress;
instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle;
and it shall be to the Lord for a memorial,
for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
Isaiah 55: 13

Just walking around the garden, assessing what needed to be planted….mulched….cleaned up….smelling the knock out roses that were in bloom after being trimmed back from the last frost of the year…..It was a reminder of Gods constant promise of hope and renewal that no matter what….He will bring us through the cold…the freezing….the thorns that are in our life.

Even the Myrtle tree that we had written off as possibly lost due to the frost came back, showing us sometimes, just a little faith can go a long way….

I look forward to planting the new tomato plants, the cucumbers, the bell peppers and add more to the herb gardens, but more than anything, through that…remembering Gods sovereignty in our lives and the forever promise of tomorrow.
