I am thinking…what we have planned for school, extended family member who is still in the hospital
I am thankful for…our Heavenly Father and His strength and Love
From the learning rooms…we’re implementing a modified version of workboxes, reading today and science/art
From the kitchen…chai tea is simmering to be made for sipping on during class (kids get hot chocolate, lol)
I am wearing…warm clothes for it went from nice to chilly again
I am creating…nothing at the moment; I lost my knitting needles and need to wait for hubby to help me move the furniture to get it.
I am going…to the classroom in a bit to start school
I am reading…Restoration Road by Mitch Ruse
I am hoping…for bettter news about family member, God’s leading and encouragement
I am hearing…He is faithful and working always though it’s not in our time frame, it’s for His Good and Glory and He never abandons.
Around the house…Laundry is almost (is it ever done?) done, and rain is falling outside.
One of my favorite things…rain
A few plans for the rest of the week:Usual-School and just seeing how the rest of the week unfolds right now
Scripture thought for the Day….
34 When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 35 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. 36 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? 37 Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? (Mark 8:34-37, New King James Version)

Watching “What’s In The Bible” by Phil Vischer with the kids, it was hard to tell who had the most fun, me or the kids.
Filled with animations, puppets, singers, “What’s In the Bible” is a very in depth, entertaining dvd, designed to introduce elementary age children to basic concepts of the bible.
The overall format is different from the popular “Veggie Tales” that ourselves and our children are used to as well as, instead of the popular computer animation, instead “What’s In the Bible” is filled with puppets and more paper cartoon animations.
What’s in the Bible? aims to confront the growing crisis of Bible illiteracy within the Church. It’s more than a DVD series; it’s a movement aimed at our children and their families, at churches and pastors … at Christians who know Bible stories, but may not know all that much about the Bible itself
Beginning with “In The Beginning”, it covers the book of Genesis and Exodus and the key people who make up these chapters and running at pproximately 56 minutes running time for each dvd, and published by Tyndale what I really enjoyed is that, the “What’s In the Bible” dvd servies is an entertaining and intelligent approach at introducing the bible to elementary age children.
You can get a quick preview of the “What’s in the Bible” video series by watching the following video:
Although, I personally miss the “Veggie Tales” animation that made Phil Vischer’s popular series, what captures the imagination is that “What’s In the Bible” and particularly for the first video viewed, “In the Beginning” is that for older elementary children (roughly 7-9), it provides a good background to the books of the bible as well as relevant key terms, for children younger (4-6), the puppets and the songs will capture their attention, however, each child is different.
This is a great way to introduce children to each book of the bible in a fun, imaginative and eye catching way and for Sunday School teachers looking for new material to engage children, this is both informative and fun.
If you would like to find out more about “What’s In the Bible“, is a big fan of Phil Vischer, or even would like to fan “What’s In the Bible” here are several ways to do so:
If you would like the opportunity for you and your children to either use for homeschooling, a fan of Phil Vischer, rediscover the books of the bible or maybe you are a new Christian wanting to introduce the bible to your children and to encourage exploring and reading God’s Word, here’s an opportunity to win two certificates, for a free copy of each DVD (In the Beginnig and Let My People Go).
To win this certificate, you are able to particpate to win seven ways (if you do all seven, that’s seven possibilities to win the two certificates!)
