Keeping the people of Haiti in Prayer

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.-2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (New King James Version)

When we came home last night from spending time in fellowship with friends, the images that greeted us as we checked the news was devastating.  Our hearts fell as we quickly lifted up the people of Haiti in prayer, followed with what can we do to help.

Heavenly Father, Thank You for being our Father and there in times of joy and in times of grief; Lord, I ask that you cover the people of Haiti, the people who are seeking answers and news of loved ones who are there, the people and organizations who are organizing at every second that passes, to bring relief, comfort and prayers of rescues and miracles in this great time of sadness.

Lord, I dont’ know what words to adequetely say, just pray You lead us all through this time and prayers that as we open our hearts to those in Haiti, we also open our prayers to You to lift all who need Your strength and comfort right now.

Amen.

Here’s some of the resources that are being twittered, emailed and shared online, if you feel led to be a candle in this time of darkness.<br>

Disclaimer: If you can volunteer or donate through your local church, I encourage you to do so, but like any thing, these are 3rd party links and I do not know them personally, but follow your heart, do your research prior to participating in any organization that you may not be personally familiar with or have worked with before.

There is power in prayer so don’t think you’re prayer doesn’t count-It does. God bless you Gentle Readers.

If you have any other resources to share with others, to help the people of Haiti, please feel free to share via the comment section.

Amen! It’s not much but at least it helps encourage others to at LEAST keep praying for the people of Haiti. We are so blesse with the comfort and resources and yes times can be tough as far as the economy comes but I’ve really just felt the impact of this verse:

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.-2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (New King James Version)

We are in a position as the body of Christ to encourage, give hope and be in service in and through our Heavenly Father and reach out to those who have lost so much right now. They are in need of hope, of prayer and comfort and even if it’s taking 5 minutes each day to pray for them, for the volunteers who are and have headed that way and for families who were blessed to be here and waiting word, that is enough to light a candle in a dark time.
