DVD Description

A rude foreigner moves into the garden, testing Antonio’s patience.

Antonio should probably be called “Brave Ant”, for the heroic way he leads his Army Ants in defending the garden from, say, Big Bully Croaker. But when some foreign ants move into the garden, their strange ways challenge Antonio to use something other than physical strength and military experience to solve a problem. Featuring Tim Conway as Hermie and special guest-star Fred Willard (“Wall-E”, “Kim Possible”, “Chicken Little”, etc) and includes the original song “How Could Anyone Not Love Me” and the cartoon short “Caterpilla” (a spoof of Cinderella). Lesson is based on Luke 10:27 “Love your neighbor as you love yourself.” (ICB)

My Review

“”Antonio Meets His Match: Its About Being a Good Neighbor”  is a very cute video and it had not only the kids giggling throughout it, but even myself as we watched this video together.

With an emphasis on, Luke 10:27, this cute animated movie helps children learn about the importance of loving our neighbors and not just the people we live next door, but anyone and for adults, this is a timely lesson, since there are times when we have people in our lives that we feel are unloveable or are like sandpaper, but our Heavenly Father can love us for our own faults, so we should strive, to learn to love and yes, work somehow, even the unloveable or as Antonio felt about Angus, the annoying in our eyes, while following  what can feel like a hard command by our Heavenly Father.

What was a pleasant surprise was the “Why” questions that the kids asked throughout the DVD, “”Antonio Meets His Match: Its About Being a Good Neighbor”  and it was encouraging how this is a great way to discuss ‘life lessons’ with the children about being a follower of Christ and bearing good testimony to our Father.

If you are looking for a not so sugary sweet DVD but also one that captures what our Heavenly Father encourages each of us to mature as Christians and strive to follow, I highly suggest, “”Antonio Meets His Match: Its About Being a Good Neighbor”.

This is perfect for Sunday School teachers, to watch with kids as a family and just when you have moments when similiar situations may arise and you and your child can watch together to get an idea of how to handle certain social situations.

That looks interesting! I have had my share of “sandpaper people” and i think it can be difficult for any age to show unconditional love! Perhaps we all should watch this one!

    Thanks for sharing!
