Cafe Chat-What is one gift you can give to Jesus?

Kim asked a really great question over at the Internet Cafe.

She asked,”What is one gift you can give to Jesus in the coming year? ”

That had me stop and really think about it…what is it of us, that we can do, in light of all He had done and done for us?

For me, the answer, had to be…time.

My time to be exact.

We live in such a busy world and a lot of the busyness could often be contributed to what we place on ourselves that what is sometimes really there.

I see it like training to be an athlete.

If we strive to seek to improve ourselves as athletes, we make and find the time that we would need to develop, to grow and to mature, and the same for ourselves.

It’s something that has encouraged and challenged me for the new year, to seek and to strive, in all parts of my life, and not just what is comfortable and convenient for me, but what our Heavenly Father, can use of us.

Part of that, is giving time to Him.

Our pastor encouraged us some time ago, and it’s something I go back to often, these days, do all that you do, not for yourself, not to gain a trophy, a badge or a place of honor, but as an act of worship and service for Him.

Give it to Him.

Give credit to Him.

Give ourselves to Him.

For me…it’s time.

Taking the time to read the bible and to grow and mature.

Taking the time in an act of service, not convenient for me, but that it would bear testimony to our Heavenly Father.

Just giving Him time.

We take the time to run through the drive thru to get a cup of coffee; We take time to make a cup of coffee at home or just to watch t.v. or other distraction.

As a gift and act of service to Him, using that time and devote it to Him, be it family time with the family, reading from the bible or a biblical based storybook, or volunteering, or just in prayer, be it an hour or a few minutes and really taking that time to pray for others or just read a verse, a chapter or a book in the bible.

Whatever that can be done, just give that to Him this new year.
