Word Filled Wednesday

At the rate I’m going, I’ve all but disappeared….

Between homeschooling, gardening, being a wife and mother, working toward hosting our own life group through our church and becoming full members of our church, I’ve added on the task of learning how to knit.

Partially, I was intrigued by a “YouTube” video I saw about finger-knitting which was basically knitting without the use of needles (convenient say if one is on an airplane or teaching the kids to keep them busy during long trips), and something I’ve had on my want to do list that I never got to.

So…..A local mom in the area has offered to teach me and I’m pretty excited about learning.

Why knitting?

Well, it plays in the fact that it was inspiration to start and participate in a local bible study and using knitting (or crocheting) as a foundation.

There were moms I was getting in contact with who did knit as a hobby or to supplement and it came up as a great opportunity to not only provide a form of friendship and creating a knitting circle, but also for fellowship.

The image you see, I created for the group site and as I reflected on it, I reflected on what kept drawing me to learn how to knit.

The idea was to see if a group of moms would be interested in taking time once a week or once every two weeks to get together and read God’s word together and to work on patterns while using that time to discuss about God’s word, have fellowship and for newbies or those who are advanced, to share in the joy of knitting.

There is a comfort to knitting that has attracted me, along with the usefullness.

Funny thing, as I watched the “Courageous Heart of Irena” on Hallmark, I couldn’t help but zero in on what her mother was knitting….There is something about the love and effort and the personal work that goes into knitting that I pray and hope I can learn to do on my own.

So one more week, and I will see about getting the items I need (yarn, needles) and will begin to learn how to knit.

May God bless you on this new endeavor! I wish I could do things like that but God left the handiwork portion out of my set of gifts and gave them to someone else, I guess. Are you enjoying the new church? How’s the lifegroup going? I miss you so much and need to catch up through email. I appreciate your prayers for Daddy. He’s home, I’m back at work and trying to unwind from the nervousness of it all. Twinkle Mom, I learned that love truly does persevere! All the abuse of the past didn’t matter – I just wanted him to be okay. And he was! Woo-hoo! Happy WFW!
