I saw this over at “Christian Homekeeping” and it was a very convicting poem; Many of us probrably don’t have that problem, but it’s still a reminder of how we have to be careful not to let Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, blogging or just being on the Internet to always rule our lives before our Heavenly Father and our family.
Is stats, reader counts more important then something more tangible like Our Heavenly Father and family?
Mom Online
I can hear them calling…so they are fine
“Where’s Mom?” they are saying…Don’t they know I’m online?
We’re hungry I hear…I tell them please hush
Mom is online now, what is the rush?
They had a bite yesterday…when the phone lines were out
These kids will drive you crazy, Oh look, a pout
I dispense bowls of cereal, as I download a file
No time wasted here…I’m a true computerphile!
I check out the boards, and respond to a few…
“We’re so bored”, moan the children, “What can we do?”
I tell them to stop, and please do not whine…
Can’t they see that their mother is busy online??
The grumbling continues as they wander about
“Mom’s ALWAYS on the computer”, together they shout
Unawares to me, they yank the phone line from the jack,
and say “Daddy’s right, this is the way to get Mommy back!”
With the constant changing weather, always on the run and just being in the right place at the wrong time, it’s inevitable that me and the kids have a temporary visitor, the cold bug.
Doesn’t that guy look just cute and adorable? Unfortunately he is not that welcome a visitor so we’ve been using Mucinex, orange juice and rest to let him know, “Nice knowing you but he’s visit needs to be short lived”.

At the rate I’m going, I’ve all but disappeared….
Between homeschooling, gardening, being a wife and mother, working toward hosting our own life group through our church and becoming full members of our church, I’ve added on the task of learning how to knit.
Partially, I was intrigued by a “YouTube” video I saw about finger-knitting which was basically knitting without the use of needles (convenient say if one is on an airplane or teaching the kids to keep them busy during long trips), and something I’ve had on my want to do list that I never got to.
So…..A local mom in the area has offered to teach me and I’m pretty excited about learning.
Why knitting?
Well, it plays in the fact that it was inspiration to start and participate in a local bible study and using knitting (or crocheting) as a foundation.
There were moms I was getting in contact with who did knit as a hobby or to supplement and it came up as a great opportunity to not only provide a form of friendship and creating a knitting circle, but also for fellowship.
The image you see, I created for the group site and as I reflected on it, I reflected on what kept drawing me to learn how to knit.
The idea was to see if a group of moms would be interested in taking time once a week or once every two weeks to get together and read God’s word together and to work on patterns while using that time to discuss about God’s word, have fellowship and for newbies or those who are advanced, to share in the joy of knitting.
There is a comfort to knitting that has attracted me, along with the usefullness.
Funny thing, as I watched the “Courageous Heart of Irena” on Hallmark, I couldn’t help but zero in on what her mother was knitting….There is something about the love and effort and the personal work that goes into knitting that I pray and hope I can learn to do on my own.
So one more week, and I will see about getting the items I need (yarn, needles) and will begin to learn how to knit.
If there is one thing besides the bible, that you shouldn’t put off reading, I STRONGLY suggest to take advantage of today to read our Constitution.

If there is one thing you can do for yourself and your kids, take the time today to read the Consitutition today and remember what it was meant by the Preamble:

332 Questions/Answers on the Constitution with step by step commentary on all of the important features of “a government of law and not of men.”
One of the members there, wrote a great letter that emphasize the importance why, it doesn’t matter who we are, the importance of getting involved.
As a homeschooling mom, I am very concerned about my children’s future and the future of my country.
In this country, we have had freedom, family unity, faith, values and principles. Our country was founded on these valuable things and from them, our country became great.
Our country has slowly been drawn away from these values though. Prosperity has made our lives easy and instead of remembering where our blessings originate from, we have turned to our selves and man.
So, our prosperity has been abused and now our once great country, founded upon values and principles, has forsaken them and turned in, upon itself!
Neighbor against their neighbors, parties against parties, family members against family members.
We have been divided and divided we will fall.
As mothers and homeschoolers, I believe, it is our call and our duty to unit, no matter our religion, political party, background, or whatever divides us, and go in to the fight for the freedom of our country, our faith, and our family!
We MUST live by the values and principles of our founding Fathers and apply them to our daily lives.
We must educate ourselves about history, to make sure we know who we are and what our country stood for.
Why should we, mothers be involved?
Because We are the center of the home!
Because We are the teachers of our children (the next generation)!
Because the future of our country depends upon us.
If we do not educate ourselves about the founding of this country, the principles and values it is based upon, how will we be able to educate our children to be the next generation of leaders, parents, teachers, and businessmen, etc?
How will they be able to live and thrive and raise their children (on values and principles) in a free country?
There are so many things happening in our lives and in our country right now.
As the gatekeepers of our home, the “watch-women” in the watch towers of our castles, how will we meet what is approaching us?
How will we be prepared?
I pray that You pray about these things everyday!
I pray that you become involved, that you are concerned enough, and viligent, and strong enough, to take a stand, for Your Family, Faith and Freedom!
After all, are you not homeschooling for this very reason?

What a fantastic letter and one that strikes to the core…so if anything else, if, just for starters….Get a copy of the Constitution and read about it and share about it to your kids.
I can actually braid my hair now without funny stumps at the end. I need to actually measure my hair length tomorrow,but I was really surprised when I can actually tie it up into a french braid.
Still have bangs and that has been a hard struggle; Some days I want to grow them out and other days I want to keep them.
If I do try to grow them out…I end up cutting them short again for sure, so maybe,maybe, during winter,when it’s cooler, I’ll just grow them out, use barrettes….though I do have a high forehead at the same time…
Sigh, I just don’t know…
Funny thing is that I just brush them to the side or part it (the bangs) anyway, so I can figure out..why do I have them anyway?
They don’t lay straight.

Taken a break from homeschooling, the kids napping, laundry going, I thought I drop by and do a quick check to see if plugins needed to be updated…email to catch up and lo and behind…I discovered…it helps to double check the blog formatting.

Tomorrow will be Good Friday and following that, this coming Sunday, is a celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Wow…what more can we be grateful for?
Through Him, we have loving grace for our sins and freedom from the death of sin, so we have everything to be thankful for.
This past month and even this month has been busy and just each moment, a time of continual refinement and chastising and growth through and in Jesus Christ.
I am so grateful to call our Heavenly Father, Lord and Father and that He is and will always be there for you, me, for all of us. Heavenly Father, first and foremost, I can’t think of what more than that.
I am thankful to Him for the good times and the bad times and ask that I am grateful through the storms as I am through the calm. Without Him and without His refining, I would be nothing but forever a broken vessel.
Always I am grateful to my husband. Through and in Jesus Christ, he is growing and still the same and I can’t ask for more. We’ve had our disagreements, our agreements, our fights and our love and I am thankful that I am as imperfect as he is and together we strive to meet perfection together as a couple, as parents and as servants to our Heavenly Father.
The children are a constant reminder of why we choose to homeschool, why we are parents, how we are to our Heavenly Father and reminders of the blessing God has given to us. They keep us grounded, in laughter, in tears and in wonderment. Thank you Heavenly Father, because I don’t want perfection, I want imperfection and the lessons that go with it.
Lord, I am just thankful how you have blessed us with a convicting and challenging church that has kept us accountable,convicted and encouraged. We are in the process of hosting a life group and with it just a reminder how as Christians we have responsibility to each other as brothers and sisters and the importance of fellowship and spending time in YOUR word.
I’m grateful that my father in law is finally going to have some testing done so we can get answers to question and blessed that I have a mother in law who is both a Titus mentor and surrogate mother to me; Her words of advice keeps me humbled and encouraged.
Lord, I’m grateful that you are there for those who are in need of you for there are many that are hurt, alone, scared and lost who need You,Lord, and You, You, NEVER give up but use anyone,anything, anyway to bring people to You and let them know they are not alone.
I pray and ask that this Good Friday we keep use that time to remind ourselves and others of the price that Christ had paid and use this time,if anytime, to step outside our comfort zone and invite people we don’t know and are afraid to know to know Christ for all we know..they too are hurt and scared and just need a soul whose brave enough to talk to them where they are not brave to talk.
Lord, I just thank you for those breaks in time that you use to remind me of what is more important and to keep me accountable.
I’m not perfect; I’m not better than anyone, I’m just your servant and a broken vessel that YOU, YOU found use for and brought together. Lord, thank You for the difficult road I have traveled and the difficult road I continue to travel and may it keep me humble, focus and forever in awe of You.
My prayers and hopes Gentle Reader you have a blessed Good Friday.
