We’re doing both container and in the ground plot gardening so there will be tons of pictures (maybe a need for its own blog), of the gardens in the weeks to come.
I’ve started my seed starters in the indoor greenhouse kit that we bought from Wal-Mart (those pics will be posted later in the day) and on the window sill is the red onion that is still sprouting green leaves.
We’re farther south then most people and using “Clyde’s Garden Planner” and just local weather, the last frost of the year has passed for us.
The first pic is a shot of one, of our tomato plants and it’s flowering so looking forward to seeing what that will bring in the weeks to come.
We are planting three different varieties of tomato plants; We already have two and there is another that is coming in the mail. Yes, we’re going to try out the topsy turvy tomato plant out of curiousity how that will do, but we also wanted some smaller cherry tomatoes.

We enjoy cooking and making our meals from scratch and wanted to work with a variety of vegetables to play with the taste of our lunches and dinners.
I’m keeping a garden journal to keep track of the plants and keep notes of future plants (this is just the start), so I will have a full list (with their scientific names) of all the plants and fruit trees planted, made available on my “Garden Page”.
We are saving up to invest in a few fruit trees and when we get those, along with some better tools, I’m going to have hubby help me dig up some ground around the bay window area for the sunflowers, flowers and for my other vegetables.
Then there is the lining of the plants…poor guys, they don’t know what is going on.

These guys are part of our container garden outside.
I still have the sunflower seeds to get started as well as another plant, Thai Birds Eye pepper plant that are going to be part of the batch that are going to be planted directly in the ground.
We couldn’t afford to get “a lot” other what we bought this weekend as far as seedlings went, but in a few weeks saving up and I plan on getting some green onion seedlings to plant, praying that my red onion, does produce seed, though I may just get some seedlings in the meantime to just plant for general practice as well as onion seedlings and we are also planning on planting garlic as soon as we can figure out how to do that.
A wish list is to place a window basket at my kitchen window and if we do that, I’m moving my herbs to there (We have basil, german thyme, cilantro, rosemary), along with chives and maybe another herb plant.
My neighbor’s planted flowers in her flower bed and I’m actually going out later today after our school time to seperate (are these amaryliss) the plants my mother in law gave me a year ago.
My mother in law gave me the plants below and they have really pretty flowers but I cannot for the life of me, remember what they are right now.
They are very hardy even in drought and what you see is really composed of three plants that I will need to go out and seperate and replant them in the ground where they are so it’ll fill up that space.
I’ve emailed her for the name and when she replies, I will update the post with their name. They aren’t edible but they are pretty plants for decorative purposes and I may use them as a border plant in the back.

Lol..well..we\’ve already had one casualty.
The orange bell pepper that is picture, second from the right, was attacked by the furball known as Murphy.
Murphy knocked over the pot and dug everything out and I replanted the plant but not sure if it survive his attack. Lol
