Yes, I’m growing out my hair long.
but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering.
from 1 Corinthians 11:15 (NIV)
I was really inspired reading Bev of “Christian Homekeeping” and really have resolved to keep my hair long as our Heavenly Father has blessed us, as women, with.

Growing Long Hair Challenge
My husband, at first, questioned me, but then warmed up to the prospect, so I’ve really looked into ways of encouraging and establishing healthy hair growth.
From that, the “Growing Long Hair” Challenge emerged.
The purpose of the challenge was to help encouraged and challenged women who have thought of growing their hair long, a support system, a source of encouragement and strength and just a way to keep a record of our records.
Feel free to post pictures on your blog, updates, tips and more to help others who have decided to grow our hair long.
So if you feel like taking the “Growing Long Hair” challenge, click on the link back button on the right sidebar, grab it and post it on your site and don’t forget to post a link to your site where the button is located and every Friday, let’s share advice, words of encouragement and results (not expecting overnight success….but just to keep us motivated).
God bless you!

How funny, I have also begun growing mine long for the same reasons! I felt quite convicted of it back in December and have been letting it grow. I’m in this weird middle stage where it looks quite awful, but in another couple of months it will grow past that and I’ll be happy.

What a great idea! Thanks so much for thinking it up! ; ) I’m glad you enjoyed my posts. I posted on my blog and signed up with Mr Linky there.
Just FYI: Your coding is missing the before the “Come Join…” and then “Challenge” is coming after the ending Also the photo was really small and then I saw you had the larger photo on the post, so I plugged that one in. I will email you the coding I used.

Oh heavens!
Definitely would appreciate the coding and thank you for posting about the “Long Hair” challenge on your blog; I appreciate getting the word out and just hoping that it will encourage and strengthen others who are thinking of making the same decision to just allow their hair to grow out.

Lol, I was the same way myself; Getting past that “awkward” stage is ALWAYS the most challenging part it seems.
Maybe Bev or anyone else who tries the challenge may have suggestions? You definitely will have a praying buddy here if you try the challenge!

What a cool idea! I have been growing my hair for some time now but it is still not as long as I want it.
I had to get some cut as the ends had gone all yucky and I was tempted to give up because caring for long hair takes so much effort but your competition has renewed me.
Thanks
