First Day of Homeschooling

*posted on The Homeschooling Lounge as well*

Wow. I can’t believe I’m here. I did it.

Today was my first day of homeschooling and I made it through without any scars. LOL, well maybe a few marks from the dry erase markers and the dog chewed the corner of a book, but overall made it through.

We started slow and with it being a short week, just really going to ease into the routine and just keep our feelers out and play it by ear.

As I went by the library to pick up a few more books later in the day, I couldn’t help but wonder if there were any good science books geared for kindergarteners.

With it being hurricane season, we’re going to probrably be focusing a lot on weather related topics, but itwasn’t hard to wonder..what’s the best way to start science??
It was hard not have that little glow in the heart hearing my oldest talked about how he had to “tell his friends” about his school and he love having mommy for a teacher and to be honest…in the long run…that makes it worth all the more….

Yeah for you! I really enjoyed the early years the very most. They are loads of fun now just very differently.
And if I can share a word of advice (I’m doing my tenth year) relax and enjoy it. It’s easy to get uptight about how much they are learning . Remember this bit of advice: Kids develop at their own pace not the pace of a book or a school. Blessings,Leticia
