Sweet Sweet Award

Dear Sweet Denise over at Shortybears Place, awared Sunflower Faith with the Autumn Friends award.

Autumn Friends Award awarded by Denise of Shortybears Place
Autumn Friends Award awarded by Denise of Shortybears Place

As you can tell, with homeschooling, the posts are going to be maybe not as update as I wish it would be, but I’m really enjoying homeschooling the kids and it’s been a great start, so far. LOL.

With nights, it’s spent scouring the internet for worksheets, lesson plans and researching work books and in between all that, catching up with posts, trying my best to respond to comments and just spending the time with my husband, sigh, a mom’s work is never done.

However in the midst of that, God bless the dear friends, both on and off the internet, who keep me pushing forward, who put up with my sudden disappearance due to being busy at times and who keeps me encouraged all the more I try to make sure I take the time to let them and you, dear Gentle Reader, know I haven’t forgotten you.

It’s September and praise God for the Autumn time. It’s a time of changes, the leaves, the hearts, the promises that today is a better day and a time to look toward our Heavenly Father for guidance and strength no matter what the situation is.

Praise God first and foremost for His friendship and His constant encouragment to push forward no matter where we are in our walk with Him

Denise, God bless you dear friend, for your strength, your words of wisdom and your encouragement.

I want to pass this award to all those sites who encourage a passage of change from the old life to the new life that is promised in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and dear friend, if you haven’t reached out to Jesus Christ and ask Him for a change from sinful ways, I encourage you to reach out to Him, to talk to Him and see that He promises a better future.

1 Thessalonians 5:11

Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.

8 for 2008-September Edition

Time is a sort of river of passing events, and strong is its current; no sooner is a thing brought to sight than it is swept by and another takes its place, and this too will be swept away.” -Marcus Aurelius Antoninus

Time has definitely gotten the better of me. Blink and most of September feels like it’s almost gone.

  1. I’m doing well with my bible reading…there are moments and time that caught up with, well, life, I’ve found myself missing a week’s worth but I try to make time, even if it’s burning the midnight oil to keep moving forward to read through the bible.
  2. My bible study hasn’t been doing as well and mostly right now letting home-school take a precendent over that. I had hope to begin,”Jesus, The One and Only”, only to find myself focus so much more on working on lesson ideas and working on posts in the evenings (though I have slacked off quite a bit after having that surgery).
  3. Can I plead the 5th. Lol. Yes, you don’t want to know.
  4. The kids have discovered Veggie Tales and we checked out a few Veggie Tales DVD that has been nothing but songs..and it’s actually got me humming a few.
  5. I feel really bad but I haven’t been able to work on Scripture memorization. Mostly back to home schooling, hurricanes and life. I need to start using index cards to remind myself.
  6. Sewing, *Cough* Actually the holidays are coming and planned on making the beds for gifts…Life, dear precious life gets in the way.
  7. This has been slow going about conquering my fear of heights but Praise God for His sweet sense of humor, I find that subject coming up more and more in my daily chats with people at stores, etc. and it’s funny how I’ve found myself feeling more assured in it’s okay to have a fear of heights and at the same time..more motivated to really confront and conquer it. Thank You, Heavenly Father for assisting me in this goal.
  8. HOMEMADE PIZZA!!!! Unfortunately I’m SO spoiled on homemade pizza that delivery or grocery store just isn’t the same anymore.

I’m looking forward to reading everyone else, 8 for 2008!
