Sunday Praise and Worship

Sunday Praise and WorshipCome Join Sunflower Faith, every Sunday for “Praise and Worship” as we come together to share praises and worship to our Heavenly Father!

This week’s verse is 2 Corinthians 3:17:

I love how the Weymouth New Testament interpreted this verse: Now by “the Lord” is meant the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, freedom is enjoyed.

Can we say a loud “Amen” to that?

As America’s annual celebration of Independence day grows closer, I reflect not so much as our country’s independence but in the independence of our souls as our Heavenly Father gave up His one and only Son for us.

What’s amazing about the freedom of God’s word is that as one really takes the time to read His words and promises to us, the more realization that God’s intention for all of us is not to burden us with legalism, religion or chains, but to free us in both body, spirit and heart to His promise of grace, perfect redemption and love.

However to accept it, is to first take personal responsibility for our sins and realizing that first and foremost that we are sinners and it is through Jesus Christ that we can be free from the burdens that this world insists on imposing on our thoughts, our hearts, and our souls.

What is more freeing than knowing that God has already conquered all and just by accepting His free gift, we are freed. So simple yet so daunting.

For those who celebrate Independence Day, as that day grows closer, not only reflect on the sacrifices that the brave men and women sacrifice each day for the freedoms that we enjoy each day and yes, did come with a heavy price, but reflect on the greatest sacrifice of all when Jesus Christ died on the cross, for you, for me, for all of us.

How has Christ’s sacrifice for you set you free?

*Note* Next Sunday, “Sunday Praise and Worship” will be hosted at Rebecca’s site, “A Walk through the Valley”. If you would like to host “Sunday Praise and Worship” please feel free to send me an email to let me know.
