It is so great to have “10 Minute Tuesday’s” back. This is a really fun and engaging meme that has one really taking time to read God’s Word and what the Holy Spirit is reaching out to us that day to remember for the rest of the week.

God’s Word For You Today:
Put your hope in the Lord. Travel steadily along his path. He will honor you by giving you the land. You will see the wicked destroyed. -Psalm 37:34 (NLT)

As I read this, it really hit home to me because how often do we find ourselves traveling and feeling “fine” but because we are basing it on feelings, when things get rocky, we panic?

I’m guilty for one and not immune or perfect when I find my hope being questioned.  We know the feelings: the anxiety, the questions, the what-if’s, but what good does it do but just steal our focus from our Heavenly Father and fill ourselves with needless worry that often doesn’t come to past.

Our hope can be based on the tried and true words of our Heavenly Father that has been proven to be faithful or it can be based on an ever changing world that can’t seem to make up it’s mind what it wants. It’s like standing at the edge of an ocean and basing our hopes on the various high and low tides of the waves…there is no stability there.

If we have a choice of where to go to look for hope and assurances, there are two…we can base it on the ever changing tide of the world, or we can base it on the rock solid foundation of our Heavenly Father and part of that includes understanding, like I”m having to learn that, friends and family will come and go, but our Heavenly Father….He will never leave….He is always there.
