To Participate in Thankful Thursdays, drop by Iris’s “Sting My Heart” and hope to be see you there!
Heavenly Father, another week is almost over and it just never ceases to amaze me what an awesome God, You are.
- Thank You so much Heavenly Father for being patient, kind, persistant and true, no matter what the circumstances, who we are, what we do or if the dog gets covered with peanut butter (kids got their revenge I think…lol).
- Lord, I lift your name up in praise and worship and I pray that You just continue to humble this unworthy servant of Yours, please guide me Lord, guard my heart, my soul, my tongue and use me as You always see fit and not as I see fit Lord.
Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.-1 Chronicles 29:13 NIV
- Heavenly Father, I thank you so much for my husband; He is so so much more patient than I am at times and I am grateful that You saw fit to bring him into my life to be my spouse, my partner and my friend; I pray Father that You help me be the wife, he deserves and should have and help be always be the mother, my children deserves and should have.
- Lord, I thank You for my children; They are a blessing and they are reminders of the miracle of life that You bless us with, whether they are of our flesh or not; All children are Your children and our responsiblities and I thank You for the blessing of being in their life as they are a blessing in my life.
- Lord, Thank You for giving the dog patience. I don’t know if I could endure myself being used as a napkin and I’m sure he enjoy being cover with peanut butter as only a dog can enjoy being covered with peanut butter, and Lord, if You don’t mind, thank You for the strong cleaners. I never realize that my child was sticking her hands to clean them until today and I just.don’t.think. I can sit on the couch with the same peace of mind I use to have.
- Thank YOU so much for our church and our pastor; The church and our pastor have been challenging, convicting and just a great encouragement in our walk; I was recently asked to participate in another area of ministry, and I praise You,Lord, for trusting me with this and for using this to really keep me encouraged, humbled and challenged.
- LORD, I have to ask that you please bless our friends whose not only invited and brought us to our new church home, but have been a major force in mentoring us, encouraging us and being our “lifeline”. Lord, I thank You, so much for them and the conviction, they have kept bringinging into our life to never stop short, but to keep pushing forward in our walk with You.
- Lord, I thank You for blessing me with this blog; For challenging and encouraging me to keep writing and participating with the beautiful friends, readers and mentors I have met via Sunflower Faith and I pray, You bless each and everyone of them, for their support, encouragement, convictions, and challenges. God Bless each and everyone of you, dear Gentle Readers.
*Edited to add*
Father,I have to add one more thing to this; My husband surprised me with a devotional bible for an early mother’s day gift. What happen, Lord, was that my youngest had torn up my bible and although it was repairable…my husband came home late due to being out to buy me this one to replace it. Lord, Thank You for today for humbling me Lord. Really, I am SO thankful for that. See…my for him to get me a bible is the same as discovering the winning ticket and the funny thing, is that the devotional bible he got me wasn’t the one I wanted.
That was the best part.
It matched what I had gotten for him and as I sat looking at the bible, going through it…getting a feel for it, he handed me the reciept saying that I can bring it back and get the one I really wanted, when he realized that he “didn’t get the right bible.”
Lord, he was right. He didn’t get me the right devotional bible that I wanted.
He got me something better.
I love the bible I really don’t want.
It matches his perfectly (though mine is pink not blue..lol) and it’s perfect because for once he didn’t pay attention to details and that was a great thing.
He got me a pink bible…pink because I do love the pink, but normally wouldn’t think of getting a bible in that color.
It matched his and the fact he looked for one that would be like his….I wouldn’t trade that bible for a million dollars. Not even two.
It is a reminder to me of his love and concern for me that I do need to remember, and need to remember to not take for granted.
So Lord thank You for being in our lives..and Lord…humble me Lord…Humble me always.

What an awesome prayer!
Have fun finding your favorite verses in the new Bible. I have a friend who Bible was stolen out of her car and she really enjoyed the time she took to re-highlight "her" verses in a new one. Who knows you will probably discover many more treasures!

Oh, my goodness!!!!!!! Where do I start???? I loved your post! You make me LOL! I love your precious heart and your belly-laugh sense of humor. My husband is so much more patient than me, too. Aren't dogs great? And, my littlest one ripped my bible, too! She ATE a page from it! Psalm 119!!! I blogged about it a few weeks back…..
This looked fun.
