Feeling the pinch of gas prices?

Are you feeling the pinch of high gas prices??

My jaw keeps dropping at the look of how high gas prices are right now and the worse part is that it’s not really new news for anyone.

In Bethel City, Alaska, gas prices is reported to be around 4.83, and I’ve heard that in Missouri, it’s already 4.13.

This is going to put a huge crimp on holiday plans but on top of that, there is also concern how this is going to affect grocery bills, energy costs and more.Wood stoves and backyard gardens anyone?

I am thankful that we have a Heavenly Father, who despite the rise in gas prices, is there for us unconditionally and though we may not be able to do many of the things we want to do, He is still there to provide us with what He knows we need.

“Do not worry about tomorrow: tomorrow will take care of itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (Matt. 6:34)

That is so true, that each day has trouble enough of its own, but that shouldn’t stop us from looking upwards at Him and to Him for prayer, praise and comfort.

As this Memorial weekend draws upon us, I pray that each and everyone of you have a safe and blessed weekend; May our Heavenly Father protect you and if you do travel, bless you with a safe journey.

@Laurie Ann: Basically, we're doing the same; Just minimizing grocery runs and buying in bulk and deep freeziing what we can so we won't have to go out for "one ingredient";Hubby is trying to avoid traffic as much as possible so he doesn't just sit there with the engine idling but other than that…grateful we have the Wii to play and keep us busy during the weekend and keeping close to the home too.

We are definitely feeling the rise of gas prices. It’s put a stop in alot of our running around town just for the sake of going. We are staying closer to home this weekend and traveling no farther than about 40 minutes away to visit a relative.

How are you combating gas prices? Are you cutting back in other areas yet? We haven’t had to other than being more conscious of “do we really need to go there?”

  5. I love your photo. You have it right! First borns are going for around $4.80 in Northern California and $4.70 in Southern California. Arm prices haven't been less than $4 in several weeks.

We are boycotting gas as much as possible. Now that school is out, we are going into town only for groceries every other week. While we are out, we go to the library and visit friends. We are trying to last like that all summer because they have already announced prices will top $5 for back-to-school and we have to drive 17 miles just to go to school. We are cutting back on everything we possibly can because EVERYTHING has gone up except our paychecks.
