8 for 2008-May Accountability

 Wow!

It’s May!

Lol…As I looked back, since starting 8 for 2008; I’m literally floored at how much has changed and how much has gone on since starting this.

  • I’m currently at 38% of reading the bible, and I find that there is so much a difference in my day when I haven’t read God’s word versus when I do; I feel more at peace and there is really more focus on Him and allowing Him to be more a focus of my everyday life; When I’m away due to temporary trips and I miss my reading; It’s definetely a huge part of my life that I feel like I’m missing that day.
  • It’s really helped not only writing down the scripture I’m wanting to memorize, but I’ve noticed too, just really including them in daily life has made a huge impact in keeping them in  my thoughts and really in my heart where they need to be are dwelling;Taking the time to really understand and keep God’s word in my heart; I’ve had many situations when I didn’t have a bible on hand and instantly, I would remember an appropiate scripture just come to mind for a particularly situation.
  • Roses…hmm…lol…the weather hasn’t been garden friendly so not sure if I can reach that; I’ve wanted to do sunflowers as well, but between cold, hot, wet and dry…I’m afraid to venture outdoors.LOL
  • Dancing…Between backyardigans, Yo Gabba Gabba, and now the Wii and the kids..well..every second is a dancing opportunity.
  • Sewing…*cough*-I completely plead the 5th. LOL
  • We are actually looking at getting a spot at a bible study group at church and I’m just amazed how much hunger for God’s word has grown with studying the bible, reading supplemental books about the bible and just really dwelling in God’s word…I find that, it’s all I want to read and do. I am actually so interested in the “Experiencing God” by Blackaby and had recently gotten a small book with “7 points from Experiencing God” and after reading it, I told hubby, I have GOT to get this book and read it.
  • Cooking…wow…Lol…I’m so surprised how little “quick fix dinners” we even have anymore; Literally everything is made from scratch and I was surprised that with a little practice and discipline, it’s easy to get in the habit of just cooking at home so eating out…well…that is LITERALLY a treat once a month. Lol

Sounds like you’ve made great progress!! Isn’t it amazing how writing things down makes them stay more in the forefront of our minds?! I’m really discovering that too with my prayer journal.

I love that you’re dancing throughout the day ~ I need to try that. Sounds like a very uplifting practice. I mean, how can you NOT have a good day if you’re constantly dancing?!

You are moving right along with your goals, but that last one about cooking from scratch really caught my eye. As a domestically challenged person myself I find that just totally impressive! You rock!
