Thankful Thursdays


Come join Iris’s “Thankful Thursdays” every Thursday to share your praises of what God has done for you in your life.

Heavenly Father, I humbly come before you today with just a grateful heart and a humble heart. Lord, I celebrate my youngest birthday tomorrow and it is a reminder to me of the blessings You have given to this family and even as we face daily challenges like any family does, I thank You for using those times to remind us to look to You always and to rely on You always even when we feel as if we can’t.

Phil 3:3 # For it is we who are the circumcision, we who worship by the Spirit of God, who glory in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh–

Lord, I thank You today for just my husband who is my strongest encourager, second to You, first to me as my husband, my friend, my partner, my guide to You. Lord, Where he is weak, You supplement, and where he is strong, You humble. Thank You Lord for the blessing You bestow upon me through the marriage to my husband, my love, my friend, my brother in Christ. May our marriage keep reaching to be an extension of You, based around You and centered on You and not on us, or the world.

For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

3:1 Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, when they see your respectful and pure conduct.

Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.

Lord, May youngest birthday is tomorrow and as we celebrate our youngest birthday, I pray that we celebrate You too, for it was because of You, that we are blessed with this child who is a reminder to us, of Your love and will for us. Lord, I thank you for each moment, both good and bad, for the nights when we deal with heal and the nights we deal with sickness, for like they are our children, we are your children, and like we never leave their side, let us be reminded always, that You are always there for us and never will leave our side Lord.

Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
the fruit of the womb a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior
are the children of one’s youth.
Blessed is the man
who fills his quiver with them!
He shall not be put to shame
when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.
—Psalm 127:3-5

Lord, God bless You and I lift Your name in praise for my mother in law, she is my mom, where I am in need of support and guidance; She helps guide me to be a better wife to my husband and helps me fill in the blanks of how to be a support to him, where I do not know. Lord, May I keep humble and respectful of her and the force she has been in our lives. She guides with wisdom and respect and teaches us how to be not only better husband and wives, but teaches us how to be the parents we need to be as she was to my husband.

“Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children” (Titus 2:4)

Lord, I pray for my pastor and our church that You will continue to encourage my pastor and my church in their ministry, that You continue to lead and guide my pastor as he in turns leads the congregation. They are taking a step of faith and sending volunteers to countries that have suffer great losses, Lord and I pray that You bless, comfort and protect these volunteers as they seek, with open hearts, to do Your bidding and as Christ washed the feet of the disciples, give their time and love to help those who are in deep need and maybe in need of just knowing Your word Lord. Bless their hearts, their words and guide them so all they do, is in love and humility and will emulate Your Son, Jesus Christ, as He walked our world.

Lord, thank You for the blessings of this blog; A few days ago, there were server problems and Lord, it helped me not only get a break and perspective on life , but also what my service to You was needed, It helped me use that time to have a perspective check to make sure that all I do is in service to You Lord and in humility.

Lord, I pray that you guide this tongue, this heart and this soul, so all I do, is for You and only You and that my words be words of praise and encouragement to You Lord and not to me. I pray Lord, that I remember how I was an am, just Your unworthy servant whom You lifted out of the grips of sins and wrapped me in the arms of grace.

Lord, I lift Your name up in praise and thank You Lord for the good times and the rough times in my life and pray, like Job, I lift Your name above all else, that even in the depths of despair that my words are sweet with honey for You though I may feel lost in the arms of fear.

Psalm 119:9-16-How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Thy word. With all my heart I have sought Thee; Do not let me wander from Thy commandments. Thy word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against Thee. Blessed art Thou, O LORD; Teach me Thy statutes. With my lips I have told of All the ordinances of Thy mouth. I have rejoiced in the way of Thy testimonies, As much as in all riches. I will meditate on Thy precepts, And regard Thy ways. 16 I shall delight in Thy statutes; I shall not forget Thy word.

Gentle Readers, I thank You for your strength, your support and your encouragement. I am an imperfect person, prone to mistakes, prone to accomplishments, and I praise God for you.

Hebrews 10:23-25:Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another–and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
